Not Even A Mouse

One of my favorite things about Christmas is our collection of
children's Christmas books.
Tonight Lottie and I read a few favorites, and then off to bed she went,
after I tucked her in, I went into the living room to turn off the lights
(Claire and Gigs were upstairs watching movies,
like they do just about every night)
and Stillestead was, well, very still and peaceful.
I was reminded of the poem by Clement C. Moore
"'Twas the Night Before Christmas" that Lottie and I had just read
together on the couch, particularly this line,
"'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;"

Tomorrow begins Christmas break!
Hallelujah!
