My Graduate

 (Claire my graduate 2020)
Tonight I am finally hosting a graduation dinner for Claire!
To me, Claire has always been in her twenties.
She has always been wise beyond her years, and so mature.
I so admire her amazing strength and quiet confidence.
She is dedicated, obedient, reasonable, opinionated, smart,
and so very very lovely.
2020 with its impetuous changes has thrown Claire a nice curveball,
and her dreams and plans have changed and it's forced her
to reevaluate a lot her plans and goals.
(haven't we all?!).
But she is faithful and strong, and I have never been
 worried about Claire.
She's always made good choices in her life
and has always put God first.
She comes from an amazing pioneer heritage which has inspired
her to overcome challenges and changes.
During her school career, her parents crashed in an airplane and nearly died,
she's moved five times, attended two different elementary schools,
FOUR different high schools, and still managed to graduate early (in December).
She is careful, controlled, and weighs everything out
thinking of her future first.
She's old-fashioned, classic, and original.
We've pretty much grown up together.
Some of my fondest memories as a 20-year-old mother was
me trying to figure it all out with Claire attached to my hip.
Sewing her clothes, making and feeding her oatmeal,
nursing her to sleep in her little basement bedroom,
listening to her talk to herself in her crib,
going for walks around the neighborhood, and
reading her books- she LOVED books, and still does!
She's not only my beloved daughter, but she's my best friend.

I love her so much and am honored she's mine.

Spiritual Enlightenment:  Meeting the Challenges of Today’s World
I testify that the Lord knows your desires and loves you for
 your faithful devotion to Him.
He has a plan for you, whether it be in this life or the next.
Listen to His Spirit. “Seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand."
In this life or the next, His promises will be fulfilled.
“If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.”
