Today my nieces Maggie, Lydia and Loli came over to pick up Claire and Jane.
They drove to the craft store where they picked up terra cotta pots
and adorable succulent plants. They painted the pots and ate
chocolate chip cookies in the dining room.
Maggie is 16 and now can drive.
This has just blown up to a whole new level for me.
My girls driving around town with friends?? Holy MOLY!
Christian and I laid in bed last night talking about our lives.
Here we are. We are not really young anymore and our children
are becoming little young adults.
Thank heavens that Lottie still answers to "baby",
Nicholas still plays with toy animals,
Ollie still likes when I tickle his back before he heads off to dreamland,
Jane and Claire still like me to read them story books,
and Christian and I still like to skinny dip in the pool late, late at night.
I want to hold on to this time of my life for as long as I can,
because it's so wonderful, and I feel healthy and happy.
I genuinely like who I am as a mother and woman.
It's exciting and monotonous all at the same time.
And sometimes I really want another baby....sometimes.
