Christmas Day 2021.

Christmas Day in The House on the 6th:
The day began at 7:30
(Thanks to Jane, who took this early morning photo of the
Christmas Eve sibling sleepover in Lottie's room).
We had Christmas morning breakfast of
 Ebelskivers (Danish Pancakes)
with all the delicious fixins.
Christian and I always make this breakfast together, and it's so funny
because for the past six years or so since we've started this tradition,
we're always so tired while we cook. We're like zombies.
My favorite part of Christmas is when the Nies give the gifts
they picked out for each other and all the hugs I take photos of.
Claire called, and we talked for hours with her.
Christmas found her sweaty near the beach, giving away
copies of The Book of Mormon and free smiles.
The smiles were more successful, she said.
I am so proud of her!
I missed her this Christmas.
I bought her some gifts and put them inside her cedar chest
instead of sending them to her since mail is unreliable.
(Gifts for her future self and family; goblets, dishcloths, candleholders,
dishes, and a few clothes).
I feel bad for not sending her anything.
(Also: the package we sent her in JUNE was just sent back
to Lindsay in Arizona, where we sent it off from.
That's bad news, but good news since now I know where it is!).
We lounged around and played epic ping pong tournaments
since we got a new table this year!
Let it be known that I am the reigning champ!
We ate leftovers (we had donuts coming out of our ears),
napped, and watched The Lord of the Rings later in the evening.

It was a fantastic day, and I am sad it's over.
