Tonight I sat in a church Zoom meeting with other members
of a social media board to help efforts in
optimizing our missionary Facebook page.
My input was minimal but found it super interesting to hear
how these young missionaries are sharing the light
of Christ via social media.
It's amazing!
I have had a presence on social media since 2004,
that's a long time.
I would NEVER say that I am an expert on social media,
in fact, I feel like I'm the opposite and not sure why I am even on the board.
But if there is one thing that I hope I do on any and all social media
platforms, is to be a true follower of Jesus Christ with every post I write,
and every experience I share.
I hope I am contributing to "righteous...authentic, edifying,
and praiseworthy" messages as Elder Bednar suggests:
My beloved brothers and sisters, what has been
accomplished thus far in this dispensation communicating
gospel messages through social media channels is a
good beginning—but only a small trickle.
I now extend to you the invitation to help transform the trickle into a flood.
Beginning at this place on this day,
I exhort you to sweep the earth with messages filled
with righteousness and truth—messages that are authentic,
edifying, and praiseworthy—and literally to sweep the earth as with a flood.
