Today we are taking our family on another epic adventure.
We've rented an RV and plan to head north to Virginia Beach,
Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Maryland, New Jersey and New York.
Our itinerary includes visiting several historical
Civil and Revolutionary War sites,
museums, LDS temples, and Church history sites too.
We have been looking forward to this trip for months.
Of course one of the main reasons for the trip is to visit Tarrytown in NY
where Washington Irving wrote The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
Perfect for Halloween.
(I mean honestly, this is where I want to go most of all).
We will visit Washington's estate and the cemetery where he and other
notable persons are buried. (It's kind of a spooky cemetery too).
I love that my children are older and will
remember these family adventures we have together.
My girls have been preparing for the pre-ACT test all week and are
delighted for a little break from school.
I am personally really excited to have a little break
from making 5 lunches everyday.
I don't mind doing it, but a little break is always
appreciated now and then.
We looked into a boarding home for Angus for the next week
and found a "pet spa" option here in Chapel Hill.
He will pretty much be spoiled for a week,
(they have their own pet swimming pool for crying out loud!).
I wonder if he will even miss us.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I will be posting from the road!
