Stop This Train

Jane wanted her ears pierced for her birthday, so the family (all seven of us)
hopped in the car and went to the mall to support our new 14-year-old Jane.
Lottie then announced she wanted her ears pierced too.
I have to admit, I was freaking out a little bit. I wasn't ready for this because
Something inside me thought she'd stay little forever,
and earrings make her look so old.
So after Jane got two little gold earrings pierced in her ears,
Charlotte popped up on the stool and told us she wanted
pink diamond hearts.
The next thing I knew, I held Lottie on my lap
as two girls shot holes in her pure little ears. (Sniff, sniff).

Then the song "Stop This Train."
by John Mayer played over and over in my head
for the next 24 hours because I just want someone to stop this train
and not let my children grow up.

"Stop this train
I wanna get off and go home again
I can't take this speed it's moving in
I know I can't
'Cause now I see I'll never stop this train."

Also, Oliver was having a really wonderful time.
