(this year's feast in the field)

Today I am hosting the annual Back to School Feast for about forty
young women from our church congregation.
I did this last year and it was a fun success.

This year we will be eating dinner in a secret field in the neighborhood
where wild apples, grapes, apricots, and pears grow.
I spent many hours in this field as a child playing
dress up, and pioneers and we made several home movies
running around in the tall grass.
I'd walk to and from elementary school with the neighborhood gang
(including siblings and cousins) using this field to cut through.

The best part about this location is that most of the girls
who live close by have never been to this secret field.
It is secluded and sandwiched in between several homes.
It's going to be a magical night!
