Say NO To Goodbye

Umi and I sat in the living room while she held and mugged on Minnie
all morning through the afternoon.
She goes home tomorrow SUPER early in the morning.
We decided not to say goodbye because it's too painful.
When it was time for bed, we kissed each other as if we would
see each other again in the morning, in Minnie's room, rocking her.

But I know I won't.
Her room will be empty, and so will my heart.

It's not easy being 80+ years old and traveling all the way
across the country alone.
I am so thankful she came out.
I had an amazing time with her—mostly just sitting around,
talking while I nurse, or while she holds Minnie
so I can take a shower or make us some food. I know Minnie
won't remember her Umi's visit, but I will always cherish and
remind her of the most tender two weeks we spent together.

Later, in the evening, Christian took the youth group ice skating.
