Jane and I have had very long conversations about this, and we both agree
that the day after Christmas is really the saddest day of the year.
There was so much anticipation for the BEST day of the year
and just like that, it's over.
We decided to change that and make December 26th a really fun day.
So, I taught an afternoon Barre class with everyone,
then we went to an early dinner together.
And just like that, 12/26 wasn't that bad.
Then, there was a package in our box from
My mom and Dad, and a card from Russ and Mary.
That was such a fun post-Christmas surprise!
My favorite part of my Mom's box was the baggie of peanut M&M's
tied up with a ribbon.
This was really sweet for a few reason;
1. I love peanut M&M's
2. The ribbon
The ribbon was from a spool she'd kept all these years
from when I was a little girl,
and I get so nostalgic just looking at it.
Then we went home, and talked to Claire about her plans.
She's not returning to Virginia for school.
This was a huge plot twist!
Instead, she was offered a job at the Burn Center in Arizona.
This time, her life in Arizona will be different.
Work, school, and her social life will all be a little different
since there is someone she may or may not love
in her life who may or may not
reside in the sunny state.
Who also may or may not be coming to spend New Years
with us at Stillestead.
