Mothers Day 2018

We are knee-deep in boxes.  Boxes filling the rooms in the
ranch house as we prepare to take our leave.
But this inconvenience didn't stop my family from making my
Mother's Day is a very special one.
Claire and Mr. Nielson woke early to make my
favorite French toast breakfast before church.
After church, we drove up the canyon after church to take our
#afterchurchnies photo.
My girls made me lunch after church and then
Mr. Nielson and I went on our last Sunday walk on the ranch with Angus.
We admired the beautiful land, walked the familiar dusty trails,
took photos so we would remember the good times we had,
and we promised things to each other that would strengthen us when we feel
weak or discouraged about upcoming stuff.

It's all good.

When we got back to the ranch, Lottie had created a cute
toilet paper trail leading me from the front door to my bedroom where
beautiful handwritten letters from each child lay on the ground
(in between two of her unicorns).
"Mom, follow it."

The letters were the sweetest things I could have ever asked for.
They were sincere, sensitive, and kind, making me feel loved even
among the upheaval and uncertainty of our lives.
I am SO grateful for good and forgiving children.
Mr. Nielson "put me down for a nap" while he and the Little Nies
made me a delicious dinner.

Claire had hand-drawn purple flowers and made me a crown
to wear at dinner, and Jane picked the gorgeous purple
Iris's from the courtyard to put on our dinner table.

We finished up the day with Jane's amazing homemade angel food cake.
(I reminded her not to get her hair tangled in the mixer while
 beating the eggs.)

Happy Mother's Day to the wonderful mothers in my life!
Especially my own mother, CINDY!!!

Teachings from RMN:
Ministering with the Power and Authority of God, April 2018
"A hallmark of the Lord's true and living Church
will always be an organized, directed effort to minister to
individual children of God and their families.
Because it is His Church, we, as His servants will minister
to the one, just as He did.
We will minister in His name, with His power and authority,
and with His loving-kindness."
