Yesterday Jane turned twelve.
All day we celebrated this sweetheart's special day:
Jane ate pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles for breakfast.
Gigs delivered this breakfast of champions to her in his undies.
With a gold candle, and it was classic.
Mr. Nielson and I checked her out of school
for the afternoon to go to the temple.
(You can read about what twelve-year-old's do in Mormon temples here).
Claire joined us (with her new camo cast...more about that later).
Words could never express how I felt in the temple with my girls and
husband. I am not even going to try and write it in this post.
It was so dear to my heart, and I was very emotional.
That part of Jane's birthday will be written in my personal journal,
and remembered in my heart forever.
Some things are too personal to write about and share.
After the temple, we picked up the rest of the Little Nies and took them and
our newly twelve-year-old to dinner.
It was a beautiful day. I am so thankful to be Jane's mother.
God knew we needed to be together and I needed to be her mother.
That makes me one lucky girl.
After dinner we went home and I presented a new personal journal
with letters and cards inside from all of her twenty aunts and two grandmas.
It was so special and she was so excited!!
She will treasure this gift for years to come.
