If I look back, it's only to see how far I've come.

If I look back, it's only to see how far I've come,
and I am so thankful for my progress.
I am proud of my body for responding so beautifully to
hundreds of surgeries, physical therapy, medication
and as I continue healing.
I am amazed at how this body of mine has experienced something so horrific,
but has healed and continues to serve my spirit and soul so nicely.
I am constantly teaching my children the importance of staying
healthy in spirit, mind, and body.
I hope you are thankful and patient with yourself and your body
each day, as you progress and grow.
Healthy bodies are such a huge blessing...Don't forget that.
Don't take it for granted nor neglect it!
 Ever. No, seriously, ever.

I love this quote and read it almost daily:

The pleasures of the body can become an obsession for some; so too can
the attention we give to our outward appearance.
Sometimes there is a selfish excess of exercising, dieting, makeovers,
and spending money on the latest fashions
I am troubled by the practice of extreme makeovers.
Happiness comes from accepting the bodies we have been given as
divine gifts and enhancing our natural attributes, not from
remaking our bodies after the image of the world.
