I hike everyday.
It's one of the highlights of my day.
I pray as I hike so I can get a little inspiration on how to
live my life better as a mother, woman, wife, friend, and sister.
I pray with a open humble heart. I ask God to help and guide me.
I pray for my children and my husband, I pray for opportunities to serve
and opportunities to help others. I also plead for help and guidance,
and I ask for clarity and patience.
Today I got very specific instructions.
I felt like I needed to be better at looking in the eyes of my children
when they talk to me.
I don't do that enough.
I reflected back at all the times I spoke to my children that day.
Jane was trying to tell me about how her classroom was decorated for Christmas.
I don't even remember looking at her as she was talking to me.
I was busy unloading groceries.
I thought about Nicholas as he was trying to help me make guacamole for dinner.
I let him help me but I don't even remember looking at his brown
eyes as he asked me why the seed in the avocado was so big.
I could go on....
Sometimes when I lay my head down at night, I reflect on the day.
My children are always my highlight.
I want to be a highlight in my children's days and little lives.
They won't be little forever.
I am thankful for a Father in Heaven who always listens to me,
even if when lots of times, He is talking to me
and I am not listening or even looking.
He never will give up on me. He never gives up on anyone.
