Bedtime stories

{photo by Blue Lily}

Last night Mr. Nielson and I lay in bed telling each other
awesome stories about when we were younger.
I told him about when I was 10 years old and would drive my
power-wheel to piano lessons. It was an army jeep.
Lucy and I got it for Christmas.
My piano teacher, Mrs. Williams lived about 4 blocks away.
I drove it there just fine-with my long legs sticking out of the sides.
I would end up having to push it home because it ran out of batteries.
I told Mr. Nielson I had really short hair all throughout grade school.
I looked like Oliver with Claire's face.
(he already knew that though)

{I loved vests}

He told me about riding his BMX bike to school with his trumpet.
Then he broke his jaw and couldn't play the trumpet anymore.
He lost trumpet first chair to a girl named Laura.
He told me he used to ride his horse before school and pretend
he was Jack Kelly from Newsies.
He used to day-dream about putting his trumpet on the back
of his horse rather than his bike.

We went on and on sharing awesome stories.
I don't remember how we ended our conversation.
I bet you twenty bucks I fell asleep first though.

Tomorrow is our big day.
Our 4 year anniversary.
