My list

{photos from Justin Hackworth}

I woke up early this morning.
The sun wasn't up yet but I knew it was going to be a beautiful day.
I sat down in my kitchen, looked out the window at the glorious
mountains and began writing my daily list.

-Pick up dry cleaning
-Post office
-Plan menu for week then go grocery shopping
-Pick up Kentucky Derby party prizes
-Head to Lucy's house, drop off invitation
-Pick up fabric for party table cloths
-Make dinner
-Jane's soccer game
-Have dinner
-Showers for children
-Family jumping on the trampoline before bed.
-Prayer
-Bed.

Yep, it was all there even down to putting myself to bed.
I make lists, its what I do.
I'm a list-maker and proud of it. But not just any list maker, a paper list maker.
It drives Mr. Nielson crazy when I don't write down the list in my phone {which syncs with his}
Instead I rip a piece of paper in half and write my list with my handwriting.

When I began witting again after the accident, my clumsy bandaged hands could barely draw a straight line. I practiced writing again with my lists.
I would write pretend lists to help me feel happy in my new world of pain and therapy.
The list would include me waking up near the beach with flawless skin.
Mr. Nielson and I would eat breakfast in bed then I would go swimming.
The list would of course go on.

I am happy about my lists now.
They are exactly how they should be, and I couldn't be happier.

Check out my feelings on my new body here.
