Re-Posted: Love Letters From Bluewater Ranch

My name is Nikki Paxman and I live in Riverton, Utah. I am new to the blogging community and only began in June while following a dear families blog "Cancer Sucks". I found Nie's blog from an "I read Nie Nie" button in early August. I believe it was just a few days before the crash. What a wonderful, insightful, and fun look into the life of a Latter Day Saint woman, wife and mother.
I have read and read and read some more.
My favorite post/posts are the love letters from Bluewater Ranch. These were posted April 14th, 15th, and 16th 2008. Sometimes there is just so much feeling in the written word. It feels simple, tender and honest. There is something about reading feelings that touches you right down deep where it counts. It is so easy to say "I love you and miss you." It takes just a minute, but to write your feelings down takes thought and time, often written and rewritten until it says just the right thing in just the right way. How sweet it is for Nie to share the completely honest, personal, and reciprocated love of her darling Christian with all of her blog followers. Their feelings for each other are obvious. We have seen and felt them often, whether it be by photo essay or some sweet thing they do for each other, but to read his words validates all the things we've read. Honestly, this is what it's all about LOVE!!
I believe it is this power of the written word that brings us all here reading and re-reading her blog as well as Cjanes. We share tears and laughter as we are strengthened by each other and the experiences we share. My hope is that each of us will take the time to write our own sweetheart, child, parent or whoever is important to us, the feelings we have in your heart.
My prayers continue to include Stephanie and Christian, their children and all who care for them.

From Bluewater with love; Letters to his wife from Mr. Nielson-the ranch hand.

Hi Babe,
I miss you. Today I worked at planting trees and laying sprinkler lines at the Ranch House. It is going to be absolutely beautiful once everything is planted and growing. I can't wait for you to see it! I'm looking forward to watching fireworks on the new front lawn extension from behind the new 50 trees we planted.

Laying out a blanket on the cool grass sounds awesome.
Tonight is "Coming-home-to-see-you Eve". Hanging out with just the men (my dad, cousins, Golden, etc.) is fun but it makes me miss you so much! I need your beautiful, soft femininity in my life to counter-out my rough edges. You bring balance in my life and I notice it most when we are not together. Can't wait to see you tomorrow night!

From Bluewater with love; Letters to his wife from Mr. Nielson-the ranch hand.

From Bluewater with love...

I operated the tractor all morning which means I did a lot of thinking...about you over course. As I surveyed the beauty of this place, I have visions of our house we will build up here...that prairie glass house.

Some day we will load up our family and I will fly us up here anytime we want. Especially for General Conference Weekends, Mountain West Conference football game weekends (when we can't watch the Cougs play on any AZ television), or just to beat the heat, etc, etc, etc. That sounds so fun! I just got out of the shower this evening after a long day of ranch work. It's pretty dusty, dirty, and my hands feel like alligator skin. I'll need to moisturize that away before I come home and touch you! Can't wait!

Mr Nielson the ranch hand.

Mr Nielson and his father took off to the family ranch for some male bonding moments and hard work. I was hesistant letting him leave his family to spend 4 days away from us-he KNOWS I don't sleep well alone...
Today I received a sweet letter from that Mr. Nielson,

"To my sweet babe back home.

Today, I arrived at the ranch...just me and my dad. It's very peaceful and quiet here like it always is. It's snowing lightly even though the sun is out, and the wind is blowing like a banshee. When it was early afternoon I began thinking to myself how cold my bed is going to be tonight without you by my side. I miss you already!
Here's what I have pondered during the 5 hour drive here: This morning's kiss goodbye to you while you were sleeping snug in your bed; Ollie's surgery; Our special spots at the Ranch; The snow that you love; Knowing that you miss me!
I love you!

It was a very nice touch to the morning fireworks...Claire insisting her teacher told them all school was canceled FOREVER...Oliver whipping Jimmy with his large, over-sized stick he found outside...Nicholas eating last nights potato peelings out of the garbage...Jane loosing her doll blueberry and the drama, oh the drama!!...Jimmy humping the neighbor-boy who came over to jump on the trampoline (that was most embarrassing).

I certainly will miss my darling. Looking forward to tomorrow's ranch update.
